Anyone have a Slot 1 PIII 550 laying around that you don't need?

Why would anybody want such a slow processor? Did you blow up the last one? If ya want a hint, Slot 1 PIII 550 are VERY rare... consider buying a Slot 1 -> Socket 370 Adapter and an Intel Celeron 566 (or higher)... much cheaper and easier to get.

Thanks to Zep, the hardware genius. Zep, you ever think that somebody looking for a very specific type of processor might have a very specific need for that very specific processor? Perhaps Smokey has a dual capable machine that is already running one PIII 550 and he needs another.

Zep is absolutely the man. I'm all Zep'ed up on Zeporin. Later I'll just Zep my Zep home, and make some Zep with my Zep. Then I'll Zep Zep Zep. Zep Zep.

Thanks for the input Zep, it's always nice to hear from the Pro's.

You got it stale, I just need to add a processor to a dual board that already has one 550. I was just going to make a mail server. Still looking for that perfect domain name though.

According to www.zepshardwarefleamarket.com, I can make a dual processor box from a Athlon XP 1600+ and a Celeron 600, but the Celeron must come from an E-Machine.

Can anyone help me with this? Also, where is the setting in the BIOS to turn off my L2 Cache. His site says that my PC will run much faster if I disable that, and AOL 8.0 will download at true 56k speeds.
I can't wait!

Let's stop harassing "The Zep Man". After all, he might use his sk33lz to hack his way into VectorStar...

wait a sec... a Slot-1 PII-550... Doesn't stale have one of those for his keychain? :)
I'm guessing this is a dell workstation... perhaps a Precision 220, i820 system supporting dual procesors on a 133mhz FSB, while using the first and last generation of RDRAM?

Nah, my keychain is a PII-233. Well, more realistically, since every IC has fallen of the board by now, my keychain is really the PCB that once held a PII-233 :)
